Ingredients
- 6 oz. jar sliced dried beef, rinsed in cold water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 1/2 c. milk (whole works best)
- Pepper and salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
- 4-6 slices toast (either buttered or plain); or waffles if preferred
Directions
Slice or shred beef into small pieces. Melt butter in skillet over medium heat. Saute onion until tender. Sprinkle in flour, stirring constantly until smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Gradually stir in milk and cook 5 to 8 more minutes, till sauce is thick. Add beef. Salt and pepper to taste. Add parsley. Remove from heat. Serve on toast or waffles.
