The Healing Colors of Corian

Countertops

One of Kitchen Magic's favorite countertop designers is Corian. In case you aren't familiar with the product, Corian is a smooth, eco-friendly countertop option that can stand alone as a solid color or mimic natural stone. Recently, we discovered they offer a line called "Corian Healing Colors". The entire line was created in consultation with top designers and health professionals to create colors that would, "help make today’s therapeutic environments as conducive to healing and optimal patient care as possible."

At first glance, that may seem a little odd. What on earth could countertop choices, and colors, have to do with healing and soothing? But before you roll your eyes in New Age exasperation, consider this:

In today's hectic world, it's common to fantasize about escaping to somewhere peaceful and lovely. In fact, close your eyes and imagine yourself in a place where you would feel the most tranquil. Odds are you envision yourself ensconced in quiet. It could be a beach with soft shades of pale sand, aqua water, and blue skies. Perhaps it's a forest, with vibrant foliage and the hypnotic sounds of birdsong. Or maybe you go all out and envision yourself in a swanky health spa, complete with a complementary juice bar and unlimited yoga classes. Either way, it's probable that colors play a part in your fantasy without you even realizing it.

Enter Corian's Healing Colors options. Now you can bring those same, soothing colors from your Escape Fantasies right into your own kitchen or bathroom. Here are some examples of the Corian colors that have proved to have a therapeutic effect.

Earth Tones

Nobody had to tell us that stark white hospital walls weren't conducive to healing. Ick. However earth tones are found everywhere in the natural world. Perhaps this is why countertops with earth-toned patterns, such as Sandalwood, are so popular. They're easy to decorate with and remind us of Mother Nature.

Blues and Greens

Think it's any coincidence that top of the list of "soothing colors" are the same ones that make up the sky above us, the grass below us, and the very water our lives depend on? We sure don't. From Jasmine, with mossy shades of green, to Aqualite, with earthy blue overtones, there are modest ways to add blue and green to your kitchen without going bold.

Conjure the colors comprising your Tranquil Fantasies and Kitchen Magic will help to make them a reality.
