With less than six weeks until Christmas, you may have already started decorating your home for this Holiday season. Whether your family has deep-rooted traditions in a fresh-cut Christmas tree and handmade ornaments passed down from generations, or you’re embracing a more modern holiday décor scheme, the Holidays are a time to decorate!
No matter what your favorite holiday style tends to be, we have three easy design ideas that make your kitchen (and the rest of your home) ready for a whole new holiday season. The best part—these three holiday home trends look beautiful throughout the whole season, so no need to worry if you’re not celebrating Christmas, your home will still look festive!
I’m Dreaming of a White Kitchen
White is the color of the year! From minimalistic and modern kitchen designs to highly detailed traditional styles, white colored kitchen cabinets have remained one of the most popular colors for this year. The clean, simplistic look of white has always been a designer favorite for the Holidays.
White cabinets make for the perfect backdrop for any colored decorations, and even look festive with just a few, simple holiday additions. Dusting some white confetti or fake snow onto the corners of your cabinets, or purchasing some new white porcelain containers can help you achieve this monochromatic look that’s so desired these days.
Even if your kitchen cabinets or countertops aren’t white, a few simple white-colored decorative pieces can help update your holiday décor. Try switching out your current window treatments for lightweight white curtains in lace or chiffon. Paper snowflakes are always a hit, and a great decorating project for your children to help out with!
Glamor, Glitz and Gold
Another popular color we’re seeing a lot of this Holiday season is Gold. Gold, like white, remains a popular color in home design because it’s so versatile. Whether it’s incorporated through small touches of golden ornaments, or your whole color scheme is about this shiny shade, it has the ability to bring a chic, classic look to any holiday style.
A great way to add some golden touches to your holiday home is to switch out the decorative pieces on your countertops and inside your glass cabinets with gold colored decorative pieces.
My favorite way to bring a golden touch to this year’s holiday kitchen design is to combine white and gold into the same holiday pieces. Do you have a simple, white serving plate or bowl? Try filling that bowl with gold colored ornaments or beads.
Forget the traditional green garland, and decorate your home with long strands of twine that are spray-painted with gold colored paint.
Wrapped Up and Ready to Go
One of the easiest—and cheapest—ways to decorate your home for the holidays is to use wrapping paper!
Give the impression that you have a lot more gifts hanging around the home this season by wrapping some empty boxes with holiday-themed wrapping paper and using a few for a centerpiece on your kitchen table or place a few on small accent tables throughout your home.
Using large bows to hold up your window treatments and to give a festive touch to throw pillows is also a great way to bring the gift giving feel to your whole home.
