Sometimes, in the name of busy schedules, clients want to know if they can submit pictures of their kitchens so we can provide them with an estimate. This simply isn't possible because, to quote one of our brilliant Kitchen Magic crew, "A picture is worth a thousand words...and a thousand misunderstandings."
Actually, that brilliant guy is totally wrong. There are about 600 possible misunderstandings - and we say 600 because (believe it or not) that's about how many separate pieces are involved in a full kitchen remodel. A picture simply doesn't allow us to see the (for lack of better words) "Big Picture". For instance:
Are your cabinets eligible for refacing?
That can be the difference of thousands of dollars, and we won't know the answer until until we physically inspect them.
What's behind/inside the walls?
You may think you can expand this or build that, only to find that there are some serious structural issues when we start messing around with interior wall spaces.
Do you know exactly what you want?
Typically, owners have a general idea of what they want, or even a very detailed idea of what they want, but then change their mind when they begin working with our professional design team and exploring more ideas and options.
Ditch the Picture: We Provide an On-Site Consultation and Cold, Hard Numbers
Those are some of the general reasons why we can't provide any semblance of a quote from a picture of your kitchen - even one with all the cabinets cleared out and the doors open.
Now, let's explain things in more detail.
Cabinets are the bulk of the expense. Typically, cabinets are the big ticket item in any kitchen remodel and there are three different cabinet options to choose from:
- Cabinet Refacing. This option is one of the most popular because, if your cabinet frames are in good enough shape, we can go in there and reinforce them, provide brand new cabinet doors in a seemingly infinite range of style/finish options, and you are left with what appears to be custom cabinets for about half the cost (and less than half the waste) required to tear everything out and build custom cabinets.
- Custom Cabinets. Custom cabinets are built-to-order and is one of the more costly cabinet options. They are great for those with a large, flexible budget and who want a 100% brand new kitchen and may require cabinet, drawer or storage spaces with non-standard measurements.
- Hybrid Solution. This option uses some custom cabinetry for tricky spaces or re-designs that don't conform to your current cabinet body, or much-needed additional cabinetry joined with a perfectly matched refaced kitchen.
You have to know exactly what looks best. Typically, you won't really know what colors, styles and finishes will look best in your kitchen until you've sat down with a designer and explored all of your options. Also, you need to know the specific materials, brand names, styles, add-ons, hardware options, etc., for every little detail. If you were able to have all of that accurately laid out beforehand, odds are you wouldn't be using us because you'd be an interior designer/subcontractor yourself and you wouldn't be using us.
Estimates are scary. Estimates can fluctuate and, in most cases, they don't fluctuate in the customer's favor. Thus, Kitchen Magic does a thorough, on-site consultation, inspection and design before we provide you with numbers. That way, you can count on us to provide "cold hard numbers" that won't change unless your selections do. So ditch the picture and give Kitchen Magic a call instead, at (855) 5-REFACE, so we can schedule a FREE, onsite consultation and begin planning the kitchen remodel of your dreams.
We provide customers with an EXACT quote. When we give you a figure for your kitchen remodel, that's it. As long as selections remain the same, the price we quote is the price you'll pay. Period.
